The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Additional Director Project Management Unit of Defence Headquarters Complex Project, Major General HRKP Peiris VSV USP ndu made his first formal visit to 9 Field Engineer Regiment located at Kokavil, Kilinochchi on 16 January 2021. The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 9 Fd SLE, Major GAD Alwis RSP psc SLE on his arrival and briefed the employment of troops to tasks and capabilities of unit.
During the visit the Colonel Commandant addressed All Sapper Troops and emphasized on training, good conduct and necessity of involving Nation Building Projects. After Visiting of the Camp, he joined All Ranks for refreshments followed by planting of a sapling as leaving a memory in this visit.
