CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS EXTENDS FELICITATION TO THE NEWLY PROMOTED SAPPER OFFICER

In conformity with military traditions, Regimental Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers at Panagoda wore ceremonial garbs on 26 November 2020 and extended a warm reception to its newly promoted Senior Officer, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara who is also the General officer Commanding - Engineer Division.

On his arrival at the main entrance to the RHQ SLE, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara was received by Brigadier Mangala Mayadunna , the Centre Commandant before the formal Guard Turnout salute greeted him. Then Major General Chandana Wijayasundara laid a floral wreath to the war heroes’ monument as a tribute to the fallen war heroes who made supreme sacrifices on behalf of the sovereignty of the Motherland. Next, was the apex of the day's ceremonial welcome ceremony. Accompanied by the Centre Commandant, the day's Chief Guest was then ushered to the parade ground where a colourful Guard of Honour, presented by SLE troops saluted him after he reviewed the parade.

Keeping with COVID -19 safety guidelines he shared refreshments with all Officers at the Officers’ Mess where he took time off to share a few thoughts with them. Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and several others Officers were present at the ceremony.
