8 SLE QUICK RESPONSE TO RECOVER AND SANITIZE THE AREA OF COVID 19 INCIDENT

A bus carrying COVID 19 patients from Colombo to Kopai quarantine centre have been met with an accident on early morning hours of 24 November 2020 near the close vicinity of Vavuniya town entrance. Hence A 9 Road was blocked due to the incident and hazard caused due to movement of COVID 19 patients along the road. CBRN response team located at 82 Field Squadron was tasked to sanitize and disinfect the road and vehicles including the recovery vehicle and the Bus that was met with the incident. The quick response and the effort made by the Sappers of 8 SLE to reopen the road after disinfection was highly appreciated by the Commander Security Force(Wanni) and the civil community.
