7 Field Engineer Regiment employed 03 x 06 troops to disinfectant programmes when requested by state and private banks. Under this programme, disinfectant was carried out Sampath bank, Commercial bank, People’s bank, Bank of Ceylon on 8th of April 2020 in Kaduruwela and Polonaruwa area. 7 Field troops have done disinfectant programs not only banks but also hospitals such as Ayurveda hospital - Minneriya. The purpose of this project is to protect the public from Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from that 7 Field have done disinfectant programs in Army establishments such as 2 Sri Lanka Signal Corps.
INTERNAL SECURITY ACTIVITIES IN KADURUWELA, POLONNARUWA, JAYANTHIPURA AREA
7 Field Engineer Regiment assisted to ensure the social distance and security measures to prevent from Covid-19 by deploying 04 x 50 troops in the heavily populated areas of Kaduruwela, Polonnaruwa and Jayanthipura during the curfew lifted hours. By assisting the police 7 Field Engineer Regiment has taken all necessary action to restore the normalcy in this area.
Apart from that, 7 Field deployed troops to assist pensioners (2434) who came to collect their pension and also to collect allowances for the people who are getting low income. Transport facilities had been arranged by the 7fd SLE with coordination from Kaduruwela CTB on 02, 03 and 06 April 2020 and 05 May 2020.
PROVIDE DRY RATIONS TO “ARUNALU NIWASA’’
“Arnalu Niwasa” is one of home which is looking after special needy children. It faced with huge problems due to the covid-19 pandemic. 7 Field Engineer Regiment had arranged a way to feed them by providing dry rations for this innocent child and its’ staff at 13 April 2020.
DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES IN QUARANTINE CENTERES
Rather than the Field Engineer duties 7 Field Engineers helped to develop infrastructure facilities like making of toilet pits, drainage system and trash pits at ITC - Minneriya, kandakadu, Damminna, Galkanda, Poonani Campus and Katukeliyawa which is established as quarantine centers in Security Forces Headquarters (East).
