OPENING OF NEW NCOS’ CLUB AND SAPPERS’ MESS IN THE 10 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Creating an another glorious remark in the history of 10 Field Engineers Regiment, refabricated Sappers’ Mess and the NCOs’ Club of the 10 Field Engineer Regiment, Myliddy was declared open by the Commanding Officer, Maj PADSW Ponnamperuma USP psc SLE on 30 May 2020, with the participation unit Officers, Senior NCOs and NCOs giving considerations to the traditional, social and military value to the occasion.

Signifying this precious occasion the Commanding Officer of 10 Field Engineers Regiment Maj PADSW Ponnamperuma USP psc SLE planted a tree before he stepped in to the NCO’s club. Afterwards, the Commanding Officer along with gathering glanced at all the compartments of the newly constructed building of the NCOs’ club and Sappers’ Mess which consist of latest amenities to host any kind of function or ceremony. It contains the latest technical and superior interior decorations blended with modern electric fittings and appliances with a Dining hall, TV room and enjoyable veranda.

In recalling the history, the concept NCOs’ club building had been planned to refabricated as a concept of Maj PADSW Ponnamperuma USP psc SLE which was a major necessity of the camp since the regiment was established at Myliddy in 2011.

This opening of new NCOs’ Club and Sappers’ Mess will unfold a new chapter in the 10 Field Engineer Regiment history with an inspiring future. It will facilitate the wishful practice of military and social traditions and maintenance of higher standards that govern the conduct of the sappers of the day.
