THE ARMY CBRN REGIMENT ORGANIZED THE GUEST LECTURE TO SHARE THE EXPERT KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS

The 14 Chemical Biological Radiology and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Regiment, Sri Lanka Engineers recently organized a keynote address on the COVID-19 that is spreading across the globe and the Sri Lanka. The awareness lecture was held under the guidance of Chief Field Engineer and the Engineer Brigade on 16 March 2020 at the Army camp, MATTEGODA.

The guest lecture was delivered by Professor Vijith Jayamaanne, Department of Food science and technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, who outlined a number of important facts about the COVID-19;

•    The origin of COVID-19.
•    Outbreak of the World.
•    Current situation of the world.
•    Current state of Sri Lanka.
•    Future effects of COVID-19.
•    How we should react in the face of chemical, biological, nuclear attack;
         - The past warfare.
         - The future consequences.
• The latest trends in future warfare.

Participants were welcome by Commanding Officer of 14 CBRN Response Regiment. By representing all units of Corps of SLE there were 30 Officers and 180 ORs participated in the highly successful programme was conducted over one and half hours.
