4 (V) ENGINEER REGIMENT WON THE INTER REGIMENT DRILL COMPETITION - 2019

The Awarding Ceremony of Inter Regiment Drill competition 2019 which signify the high standards of discipline and conduct among sappers of Sri Lanka Corps of Engineers, took Centre stage on 28 December 2019 at the Corps of Engineers Parade ground. The Volunteer Force Commandant and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General Jagath Gunawardena graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, on the formal invitation of Brigadier Raveendra Dias, the Centre Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

The climax of the day’s events, surrounded in curiosity reached the agenda with award of trophies and certificates to Best Troop, Best Troop Commander and Best Drill Instructor who have exhibited their outstanding performances during the Drill Competition.

4 (V) Engineer Regiment Drill Squad was selected as the Best Drill squad in year 2019 while 11 Field Engineer Regiment became the second place. Lieutenant HTM Thilakasiri SLE from 7 Field Engineer Regiment was named as the Best Troop Commander and WO II Jayapathma JHMPN from 4 (V) Engineer Regiment was named as the Best Drill Instructor.

Finally a Drill display by the best Troop and the Band display by the regimental band were presented to the Chief Guest. Large gathering of senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers attended the awarding ceremony.
