National Novices Artistic Gymnastic Championship 2019 – 2019 was held on 9th and 10th November at Torrington Sports Department Gymnasium Colombo and tournament Organized by National Gymnastics Association of Sri Lanka.
Three Sappers of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers those who represented the Army Gymnastic team were displayed high performances and won 5 medals out of six events, including three gold medals, one Silver medal and one Bronze medal. In the meantime Lance corporal Prasanna RGNS of 9 Fd SLE won the Overall Best Player award by scoring 58.8 marks and Army Gymnastic Team won the Team Championship award.
Following medals were secured by Lance Corporal Prasanna RGNS of 9 Fd SLE: 1. Parallel bar Gold medal 2. Horizontal bar Gold medal 3. Roman Rings Gold medal 4. Vault Bronze medal 5. Overall best player 6. Team championship Gold medal
Lance Corporal Jayamanna MNHR of 11 Fd SLE has won the Horizontal bar Silver medal.
Lance Corporal Premasiri UGKR of 12 Fd SLE also member of the Champion team in the National Novices Artistic Gymnastic Championship 2019.
The winners arrived to Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers headquarters on 14 November 2019 and regimental sport Officer Captain Karunarathne warmly welcomed them. Finally the champion team got the compliments from the Centre Commandant Brigadier Ravindra Dias and he congratulated them on their future achievements.
