COMMANDER OF THE ARMY DECLARE OPEN THE \"SALEBA\"

The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers launched it newest venture; the Sappers\' Leisure Bay \"SALEBA\" which was declared open by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General R M D Ratnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc at the auspicious time on 11 December at the Mattegoda, Corps of Engineers camp premises with the invitation of the Colonel Commandant Major General Udaya Nanayakkara USP ndu Hdmc. The ceremony was held with the participation of the committee members of the Engineer Association, Retired Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Corps of Engineers. The Sappers\' Leisure Bay offers a range of leisure entertainment inclusive of a Swimming Pool, club house operational at present. A Banquette hall, tennis court, squash court, golf ground, indoor gymnasium and fishing club, remote control club (RC club), endurance course, walking and riding track, play ground and a special game zone for recreational activities will be established in near future to add the value for SALEBA. SALEBA took the pride of honouring the Commander of the Army as its first life time member and Colonel Commandant handed over the membership card to the Commander of the Army during the ceremony. The members of the Sri Lanka Army Swimming team displayed several swimming disciplines adding the glamour to the ceremony. The Colonel Commandant delivered his vote of thanks commending the efforts of all who have contributed to make the Sappers\' Leisure Bay a success.
