For the retirement of Maj Gen HL David USP psc a Grand Dinner Night was held at Officers\' Mess RHQ SLE on 17 April 2014 with the participation of Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineer and Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army Major General AWJC De Silva RWP USP ndu psc and most of the officers and their spouses of sapper family. During the dinner night speech Colonel Commandant appreciated the tremendous service of Maj Gen HL David USP psc and wish him for his future. And also colonel commandant presented a memento to appreciate his great service to the Corps of Engineers and to the whole nation. Maj Gen HL David USP psc is one of the well educated and professionally qualified general who render a remarkable service specially for the student officers during his tenure at several institution such as Staff Collage, Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka Military Academy and etc. Further during his dinner night speech mentioned, he born in North, live in North, serve in North and promoted to the rank of Major General.\r\n
