Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc, the Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army, made his official visit to the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, Embilipitiya on 18 June 2024. Upon his arrival, he was accorded with a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Colonel M K V Manoharan USP, the Commandant of SLSME.
The Commandant SLSME introduced the SLSME instructors, staff and appointment holders to the Chief Field Engineer. Subsequently, to mark his visit, the Chief Field Engineer planted a sapling and posed for a group photograph with the SLSME troops.
During the troop address conducted, the Chief Field Engineer emphasized the importance of balancing military and personal life, as well as managing salary amidst the prevailing economic crisis.
As part of his visit, the Chief Field Engineer also delivered a leadership lecture to the ongoing courses. He emphasized key leadership qualities and highlighted the significance of integrity and honour, explaining how these traits profoundly impact one's personality and are crucial for effective Military leadership. At the conclusion of his lecture, the Commandant SLSME presented a memento to the Chief Field Engineer.
Before his departure, the Chief Field Engineer penned his complimentary remarks in the visitors' book at the SLSME Officers’ Mess.
