VISIT OF THE CHIEF FIELD ENGINEER TO 1 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The Chief Field Engineer, Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc, made his inaugural official visit to the 1 Field Engineer Regiment on July 4, 2024. The Chief Field Engineer was accorded with a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Major W A M Samaranayake SLE, the Overlooking Second in Command of 1 Field Engineer Regiment.

In line with the programme, the Chief Field Engineer addressed the troops and shared insights from his career, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline among military personnel, effective management of subordinates, and the significance of managing personal finances amidst the current economic crisis.

As part of the itinerary, the Chief Field Engineer planted a sapling to commemorate his visit followed by attending to an all-ranks tea by interacting with the troops of the 1 Field Engineer Regiment. Before concluding the visit, the Chief Field Engineer penned a complimentary note in the visitors’ book and posed for a group photograph with all ranks of the 1 Field Engineer Regiment.
