General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division, Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc, made his first official visit to the 1 Field Engineer Regiment on 07th February 2024, at the Army Cantonment, Panagoda. He was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Major KWKR Jayasinghe RSP psc SLE at the entrance of the Regimental Headquarter premises.
The visit began with scheduled formalities including a drive pass, followed by a briefing covering role and tasks of the regiment. Further, the visit was symbolized by planting a mango sapling. The General Officer Commanding addressed the troops, emphasizing responsibilities when performing role and tasks. Moreover, he elaborated the importance of discipline to the troops.
The visit concluded with an inspection of the camp premises. The General Officer Commanding's visit reaffirmed the regiment's commitment to excellence and camaraderie, setting the tone for future endeavors.
