Under the visionary guidance of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, and Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, another inspiring book donation programme was unfolded on 04th January 2025 at the 7 Field Engineer Regiment in Minneriya. This impactful initiative sought to unlock brighter futures for 21 children of soldiers, strengthening educational opportunities and fostering unity within military families.
A collection of educational gift packs, carefully curated with books and essential learning materials, was presented to children. These resources were designed to ignite a passion for learning, providing them with the tools to excel academically while encouraging a love for lifelong education. The event was made possible through the generous support of Mr. Kolitha Wickremasinghe, the Managing Director of SALOTA International (Pvt) Ltd, along with his dedicated team. Their commitment and generosity reflected a strong devotion to empowering military families and nurturing the next generation.
The programme was attended by Major WMAB Warnasooriya USP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment and other Officers of 7 Field Engineer Regiment.
