The Inter Regiment Gymnastic Championship 2021, competed by teams of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA), Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Gemunu Watch (GW), Gajaba Regiment (GR) and Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) got underway at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 22 and 23 February 2022.
Sri Lanka Engineers won the overall Championship by achieving 163.5 points and 5 medals. S/4B02716 Cpl Arunasiri LGK won Gold medals in Roman Rings event and Parallel Bar event. In addition, S/250449 Spr Fernando KJMB won Gold medal in Pommel Horse event, Silver medals in Parallel Bar event and High Bar event by adding colors to the competition. Furthermore, S/250449 Spr Fernando KJMB secured the Second place out of 35 players who competed the event.
General LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest, together with Senior Officers on 10 March 2022 at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
