SAPPER SHINES AT WORLD SEPAK TAKRAW CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

The World Sepak Takraw Championship 2025, held in conjunction with the 38th Thai King's Cup, took place from 20 to 28 July in Thailand, attracting participation from 18 nations across the globe. This prestigious international event showcased some of the finest talents in the sport of Sepak Takraw, a game that demands exceptional agility and skill.

Among the players representing Sri Lanka was Lance Corporal Madusanka N P of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment SLE. Selected as a member of the National Team comprising six male and six female players, where Lance Corporal Madusanka demonstrated remarkable performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Competing in the Men’s Hoop Championship category, Lance Corporal Madusanka showcased his dedication and superior skill, ultimately securing 3rd place and bringing home a Bronze Medal. His achievement not only brought honour to the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers but also added prestige to the entire Sri Lankan contingent participating in this international competition.

The outstanding performance of Lance Corporal Madusanka highlights the sporting excellence within the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and serves as a source of inspiration for all ranks. His success on the global stage is a testament to the discipline, determination, and talent fostered within the Sapper community.
