SAPPER KIDS BENEFITED WITH EXERCISE BOOKS AND STATIONARIES

Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a book donation programme to the children of engineer serving soldiers who have bravely fought to achieve the eternal peace to the motherland through the violent war which the country suffered for 3 consecutive decades.

The event of book donation was organized for 251 children of serving soldiers at the Convention Centre - Mattegoda on 12th December 2021 with the participation of a cross section of selected children along with their parents.

Honorary sponsorship for the event was granted by Rotary club Colombo - East in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The main sponsorship coordinated by Maj Gen (Retd) Sudantha Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc and Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe. The donation included 251 numbers of gift packs consisting stationaries and exercise books. Mr AP Jayarajah, the president of Rotary club Colombo - East and his daughter Miss Dhakshi Jayarajah, fellow staff members, Mr RAM Pritamdas, Mr Rajmohan and Mrs Sujeewa Priya kanthi were welcomed by a traditional dance as they have participated the event as the guest of honours.

The event was held under the patronage of Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch while the Chief Field Engineer and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu made his presence to the event.

The programme was held strictly complying to the COVID 19 Health guidelines.
