REGIMENTAL CENTRE SLE BIDS FAREWELL TO THE OUTGOING CENTRE COMMANDANT

The Regimental Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers ceremonially bid farewell to its outgoing Centre Commandant, Brigadier R M Subasinghe RSP, on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, during a dignified military ceremony held at the Regimental Centre.

Upon the arrival, outgoing Centre Commandant was warmly received by the Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel K A D P Sugathadasa USP, and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in keeping with military tradition. As a mark of profound respect and remembrance, he laid a floral wreath at the Monument of Fallen War Heroes, paying tribute to the brave members of the Corps who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Thereafter, the formal Handing Over documents were signed at the Centre Commandant’s Office, symbolizing the official transfer of duties and responsibilities.

Addressing the troops of the Regimental Centre, Brigadier Roshan Subasinghe conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to all Officers and Other Ranks for their unwavering support, dedication, and professionalism extended to him throughout his tenure. He commended the spirit of unity and camaraderie within the Regiment and expressed his confidence in its continued progress and success in the years ahead.

The day’s proceedings culminated with an All Ranks Tea hosted at the Sappers’ Mess, where a large gathering of Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks assembled to extend their best wishes and express their gratitude to the outgoing Centre Commandant for his exemplary leadership and devoted service to the Corps.
