The 5 Field Engineer Regiment, established on 23 August 1989, proudly celebrated its 35th anniversary by launching series of celebratory events, organized under the guidance of Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel W M P T Jayawardane SLE.
On the anniversary day, an All-Ranks lunch was arranged at the Regiment's premises, featuring a sumptuous meal including the troops engaged in IS duties received special packeted lunches at their respective security points.
Following this, a Cricket tournament took place on 25 August 2024 by fostering of camaraderie and teamwork among All Ranks of the Regiment. The festivities continued with a field visit of soldiers to Colombo Port City and the Lotus Tower on 01 September 2024. These activities were designed not only to celebrate the Regiment's distinguished history but also to promote the mental and physical well-being of all personnel.
Through these events, the 5 Field Engineer Regiment highlighted its commitment to excellence and the welfare of soldiers.
