NEW CBRN FIRST RESPONDERS HAVE COMPLETED THEIR BASIC QUALIFICATION

The closing ceremony of the Chemical, Biological, Radiology, and Nuclear Response Basic course held on 23 Dec 2022 at Home of Sappers, Mattegoda.

With the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division Major General Lanka Amarapala, and under the supervision of the Commanding Officer 14 CBRN Response Regiment conducted the course from 06 December 2022 to 23 December 2022 with the aim of ameliorating the combat readiness of the troops for present technological threats. The course is consisted with the relevant theoretical, technical and practical sessions. The course was arranged and conducted by 14 Chemical Biological Radiology and Nuclear Response Regiment with the collaboration of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB),Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council (SLAERC), National Authority for Implementation of Chemical Weapon Convention (NACWC) and the Ministry of Health for 11 x officers and 36 x ORs.

The course has concluded with the demonstration of first responders’ role in the emergency of chemical hazard and Major General Lanka Amarapala, General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division grassed the closing ceremony as the chief guest
