MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA RWP RSP ndc psc ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 14th COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc assumed duties as the 14th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services on 24th of August 2023, amidst religious ceremonies at the Regimental Headquarters, Corps of Engineer Services, Panagoda.

The incoming Colonel Commandant Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc was warmly received by the Centre Commandant CES Colonel YKS Rangika psc ptsc at the main entrance of Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters. Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc was accorded a guard turnout followed by the laying of a wreath as a floral tribute to the brave fallen war heroes of the Corps of Engineer Services. Thereafter in accordance with military traditions, a colorful guard of honour was awarded as a salute to the incoming Colonel Commandant Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc.

As members of the Maha Sangha chanted Seth Pirith and invoked blessings upon the 14th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his office. Subsequent to assuming duties, a group photograph was taken at the entrance of the Regimental Centre followed by planting a Mango sapling to mark the occasion.

After Colonel Commandant assumed duties, he addressed the officers and other ranks, highlighting his scope of work and duties in the days to come. Subsequent to the address, Colonel Commandant had an interaction with the troops during the all rank tea. Finally, the ceremony culminated with the formal address to all Officers.
