Major General GWA Seneviratne USP psc assumed duties as 12th General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division at the Divisional Headquarters, Thalladi, Mannar on 04 July 2023.
In accordance with military traditions, Maj Gen GWA Seneviratne USP psc was welcomed on the arrival by the Colonel General Staff, Col DMM Dissanayake RWP, invited to review the Guard Turnout and later on received the salute in the Guard of Honour presented by troops of 4 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
After, the new General Officer Commanding was invited to sign official documents to mark the assumption of his duties amidst Pan-religious blessings and also planted a sapling to symbolize the occasion. Then Maj Gen GWA Seneviratne USP psc addressed the under command troops followed by an all rank tea party.
Brigade Commanders and Staff Officers of the 54 Infantry Division and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
