Major General D K S K Dolage USP psc assumed duties as the 10th Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College on 26 June 2024 and it was marked by religious rites and formal military traditions.
The incoming Commandant received a customary Tri Services Guard Turnout at the Main Gate. A brief multi-religious ceremony invoked blessings from clergy members on his new appointment at the Commandant’s Office.
During the chanting, the newly appointed Commandant signed an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of office at an auspicious moment. To commemorate his assumption of duties, a sapling of Ironwood was planted on the College premises.
Subsequently, the Commandant addressed the troops, highlighting his vision for the organization’s future as the most significant agenda item of the day. Major General D K S K Dolage USP psc engaged in discussions with college officers, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and enhancing professionalism among all ranks.
The new Commandant concluded the day by sharing a cup of tea with faculty members, senior officers, permanent staff, Other Ranks, and Civil Staff of the College who had gathered to welcome him.
