Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu assumed duties as the 21st General Officer Commanding of 56 Division on 29 May 2020 at the headquarters 56 Division, Kokeliya, VAUNIYA with the blessing of maha sanga.
To mark this important event Brigade Commanders of 561, 562 and 563 Brigade, Staff Officers of the 56 Division, Commanding Officers of under command battalions and other ranks belongs to the division have participated in the occasion.
