Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force undertook an official visit to the 4 (V) Engineer Regiment in Rathmalana, on Thursday, 08th May 2025.
Upon arrival, Lieutenant Colonel H P U Dasanayaka USP SLE, the Commanding Officer of the 4 (V) Engineer Regiment, welcomed the Commandant. A ceremonial drive pass was presented in honour of the visiting Senior Officer.
Then, all the officers of the unit were introduced by the Commanding Officer and this was followed by a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer and all officers the regiment’s history, duties, ongoing projects, training programs, and administration.
Later, Major General D K S K Dolage addressed all the officers and other ranks of the unit. In his speech, he spoke about the important role the regiment’s founders played, especially in the construction field, as well as their involvement in other areas like sports, thanks to their skills and professionalism. He also thanked the troops for their valuable support in national development works, military construction projects, and emergency response efforts during natural disasters.
Following his address, Major General D K S K Dolage engaged in a cordial interaction with all ranks during a formal tea hosted by the regiment. Concluding the visit, the Commandant signed the Visitors’ Book and posed for a group photograph with the all ranks, marking a memorable occasion for the regiment.
The event was attended by Brigadier (Coord) of the Security Forces Headquarters (West), Colonel (Coord -Volunteer), Liaison Officer (Volunteer), Senior Officers and Officers who represented the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
