INTER REGIMENT DRILL COMPETITION 2016 - CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS
1st Field Engineer Regiment emerged as the champions of the Inter Regiment Drill competition 2016 and won the prestigious Championship Flag at the presentation ceremony held on 8th February 2016 at the Regimental Centre Parade Grounds, Panagoda. The Presentation ceremony was graced by the Brigadier G D I Karunarathne RSP psc, the Chief Field Engineer as the Chief Guest.
Ten Drill Squads from engineer regiments contested the competition on 5th & 6th February 2016. 1st Field Engineer Regiment Drill Squad emerged as the Champions while 7th Field Engineer Regiment placing as the Runner up. Lieutenant P H T Deshan SLE from 1st Field Engineering Regiment was awarded the trophy for the Best Platoon Commander and Warrant Officer-2 Wijeyarathna Banda IG from 8th Field Engineer Regiment was awarded the trophy for the Best Drill Instructor.
