INITIATIVES TAKEN BY THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO UPLIFT THE WELFARE FACILTIES OF WAR HEROES FAMILIES

Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers launched a mega welfare project which was ceremonially held on 12 Feb 2019. On the guidance of the Colonel Commandant Major General D D U K Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc 2 Houses were constructed at Wadduwa and Kegalle and declared open facilitating 2 differently able soldiers of 1 Field Engineer Regiment. Mr Mohanashankar and Mrs Vathani Mohanashankar extended their generous donation of Rs 2 million to construct the two houses.

Simultaneously, another donation programme was held at RHQ SLE to award scholarships to children of differently able Soldiers’ families. Mr Mohanashankar and Mrs Vathani Mohanashankar facilitated the allocation of Rs. 2,500 per month for each student to attend their studies.

The Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Commander Security Force Jaffna Major General D D U K Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc, President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Centre Commandant Corps of Engineers and Senior Members of the Seva Vanitha branch were present at the occasion.
