As dedicated Regiment for volleyball game in Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, 1 Field Engineer Regiment assigned to renovate the volleyball court as day and night volleyball court with the direction of the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The renovation of volley ball court was long-awaited, requirement where volleyball court was not properly covered and was not lit up for night time practices. Accordingly, this renovation project has commenced on 26th August 2023 with available raw materials and financial assistance from RHQ SLE. With the hard effort of troops of 1 SLE the completed project was inaugurated by Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 27th September 2023 with the presence of Maj Gen PPA Perera Hdmc psc (Chief of Staff at OCDS), Brig SPG Gamage RWP RSP USP (Centre Commandant), COs of 14 CBRNE regt, 4(V) SLE and all staff officers of RHQ SLE.
During the inauguration, there was a friendly exhibition match with Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) and Sri Lanka Army Military Police (SLAMP) teams. Then Sappers team secured the victory of the game. S/B100505 Sgt Bandara DMCR was led the Engineer team as Captain.
