The Inaugural Ceremony for the Field Engineering Basic Module and Humanitarian Demining Course for Sri Lanka Women’s Corps Commenced on the Morning of 30th December 2021 at Field Engineer Brigade, Vavuniya. This will go down in history as the first Humanitarian Demining Course given to Women Soldiers by the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers.
Field Engineering Basic Module and Humanitarian Demining Course have been specially designed for the Officers and Other ranks in Sri Lanka Women’s Corps and the aim of course is to acquaint the operational redlines to achieve the desire goals of the future endures of the Sri Lanka Army. Total number of students are limited to 02 x 30 and Duration of the course will be 21 days for Field Engineering Basic Module package and 45 days for Humanitarian Demining package (66 working days) commencing from 30th December 2021 to 23th March 2022.
The Chief Field Engineer Major General W M G C S B Wijayasundera RSP USP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of the Commander Field Engineer Brigade, Brigadier D P Jayasinghe RSP. Col Project Lt Col K A S J Kodithuwakku USP ptsc SLE, GI Ops/Tng RHQSLAWC Lt Col T N Thilakawardana RSP IG SLA, Co 8 SLE Major A L I W K Athugala RSP USP psc SLE and All Staff officers and Other Ranks of Field Engineer Brigade were participated to the Event.
