Humanitarian Demining Management Course for Officers of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was commenced on 16 April 2024 at Field Engineer Brigade, Boo-Oya Vavuniya. 17 Officers representing from Engineer units have reported for this course and the course is scheduled to terminate on 29 April 2024.
The Commander Field Engineer Brigade made the opening remarks of the course and briefed about the importance of undergoing this Humanitarian Demining Management Course for Middle Grade Officers of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The course curriculum is designed to give a knowledge for Officers to undertake Humanitarian Demining Operations in Sri Lanka as per the International Mine Action Standards. The main subjects will be covered under this course include Managing a Demining Site and its operations, Land release, Quality Management, SOPs for HDM, EORE and other local demining agencies operating in Sri Lanka.
