GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF ENGINEER DIVISION VISIT TO 16 WORKSHOP REGIMENT

The General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc has visited to 16 Workshop Regiment on 29 January 2024 at Mattegoda. The newly appointed GOC was warmly received by the Commanding Officer of 16 Workshop Regiment, extending a gracious welcome on behalf of all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment.

The visit commenced with the GOC receiving a drive pass, adhering to formalities. Subsequently, the Commanding Officer and other Officers presented a comprehensive briefing covering vital aspects such as role and tasks, organizational structure, training programmes, strength, administration, and logistic matters of the Regiment. The event took a symbolic turn with the planting of a mango sapling.

After the planting of mango sapling, the GOC toured the camp premises, gaining insights into the operational capabilities by visiting the operational sections, stores and the vehicle yard.

Following these formalities, the GOC delivered a detailed and precious troop address, emphasizing the importance of employing the soldiers in different fields of work, the importance of balancing the work and personnel life, improvement of trade skills of soldiers and ways of developing the operational readiness of 16 Workshop Regiment and finally GOC wish all members of the unit for their future success.
