A felicitation ceremony in honour of the Regimental Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Brigadier R M Subasinghe RSP, was held with due military splendour on 16 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre, SLE.
Upon arrival, the Centre Commandant was warmly received at the Main Entrance by Colonel K A D P Sugathadasa USP, Deputy Centre Commandant SLE. The ceremony commenced with a Guard Turnout, setting a tone of discipline and pride, followed by a solemn floral tribute to the Fallen War Heroes, paying homage to their supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation.
In keeping with cherished military traditions, a meticulously organised Ceremonial Parade was thereafter conducted. Addressing the parade, Brigadier Roshan Subasinghe expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Colonel Commandant, all Officers, Other Ranks, and Civil Servants of the Corps for organising a dignified and memorable felicitation ceremony in his honour. He further acknowledged the collective dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of the Sappers in upholding the proud legacy of the Corps.
The event concluded on a warm and cordial note with an All Ranks Tea hosted at the Sappers’ Mess, fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps among all present.
