DIYATHALAWA SAPPERS LAKE VIEW HOLIDAY BUNGALOW OPENS

Newly constructed Sappers Lake View officers’ holiday bungalow at Diyathalawa was ceremonially opened by the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc amidst religious observances held on 19 July 2019.

The bungalow is located on a small hill feature facing towards Halangoda lake which provides a very pleasing view. The beauty of the environment is enriched with two holiday bungalows at both sides of it which belongs to the Regiments of Artillery and Light Infantry.

The two story building consists with six rooms enable to accommodate three families at a time. They have three separate access too. The construction which comprise with 7000 sq ft of floor area was undertaken by 4th (Volunteer) Engineers Regiment. It has space for a restaurant and a bar at the ground floor in addition to a pantry each on both the floors.

MGO, Chief Field Engineer, Maj Gen (Retd) Mervin Perera, Commander Engineer Brigade, Centre Commandant, Commanding Officers, senior officers and large gathering of officers participated for the opening event.
