Differently abled soldier, Corporal (Retd) Mithrapala KM of 5 SLE received a Commode set from the Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE). The soldier was disabled due to a mine blast in the operational area at Sarasalai in year 2000 and he lost his right leg.
The Commode set handed over by the Chairperson together with Major General Nihal Amarasekara, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer at his house premises located in Mahiyanganaya on 19 September 2021. Value of the Commode set amounting Rs. 20,000.00, patronage by Mr Abaya Hettiarachchi and the fund sources were coordinated by Lt Col (Retd) W R H K Wijesundara USP SLE from Australia.
The donation programme was held strictly complying to the COVID 19 Health guidelines.
