The ‘Abimansala -1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura’ is a haven of peace and security, built in a scenic location beside the Nuwara Wewa in Anuradhapura, the resort is equipped with facilities to provide these severely injured soldiers with lifelong care.
The Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a visit to Abhimansala -1 Wellness Resort at Anuradhapura on 27 March 2023 coordinated by 8 Field Engineer Regiment. The President of Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena led the visiting team and inmates of the Wellness Centre, warmly welcomed the Chairperson and other guests on arrival.
During her visit, Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena had a cordial interaction with resident War Heroes and inquired wellbeing and the progress of the healing process.
All visitors with handicapped War Heroes enjoyed tea at the 'Abimansala -1' premises followed with the music and gift vouchers were distributed to the caretakers of the wellness resort by the president of Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, along with other guests of the evening.
Afterwards, the Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena donated a storage facility built inside the Ayuradic Hospital in the wellness resort made by 8 Field Engineer Regiment troops with the financial assistance received from the Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch.
The event successfully culminated with the participation of Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Commanding Officer of 8 SLE Maj N L C Chandrajith RSP SLE and Mrs. Nirosha Sajeewani Chandrajith also joined the occasion.
