Lieutenant General NUMMW Senanayake RWP RSP USP psc, the Commander of the Army at the invitation of the Colonel Commandant Major General S Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc declared open the newly constructed Convention Centre amidst the religious formalities for the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 11 November 2017. Commander of the Army had an inspection visit along with senior Sapper Officers after opening the Convention Centre.
The Convention Centre is constituted with a fully fledged conference room, auditorium, VIP waiting room and a restaurant area. The new Convention Centre added new look to the Lieutenant General Angammana Memorial Conference Hall. A group photograph taken with the fourth Sapper Commander was presented as a memento to the Commander by the Colonel Commandant at the event. The Colonel Commandant, senior officers, officers and Other Ranks of the Corps presented at the event. The project was undertaken by the 4 (V) SLE Regiment and the Commander attended for a photograph with the construction team at the end.
