THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS MARKED HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

The 19th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu made his official visit to Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) on 25th February 2021.

The Commandant SLSME, Colonel CD Wickramanayake WV RSP warmly welcomed the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. Upon arrival, the Senior Officer planted “Na” tree for mark his visit at the SLSME. Later he had a discussion about the Training, Administration and Logistic matters during the Commandant's presentation. Thereafter he addressed the training and administration troops of SLSME. During the address he emphersised the prevention of COVID 19 pandemic while attending the task entrusted and the Chief Guest thanked all previous Commandants and Staffs who improved training and administration facilities of SLSME up to date.

Further, The Colonel Commandant highly mentioned about his experience as the instructor of SLSME. Afterwards, a model of Sailing Ship was handed over to the Colonel Commandant as a momento, which was designed by the NVQ wing of SLSME.

The occasion marked with an all ranks tea at the NCOs’ Club where the Chief Guest was greeted by all officers and other ranks. Later he visited to Sappers’ mess, Main kitchen and NVQ workshop. Finally, the programme was ended with lunch at the Officers’ mess.

Commandant of SLSME, GSO I - RHQ SLE, Chief Instructor SLSME, SO II – RHQ SLE, Senior Officers, Officers & Other Ranks were Present for the ceremony.

The day's programme was conducted adhering to health safety guidelines and social distancing practices.
