CHIEF FIELD ENGINEER VISITS ENGINEER BRIGADE AND UNDER COMMAND REGIMENTS

The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP VSV USP ndu paid an official visit to Headquarters Engineer Brigade, 8, 9 and 10 Field Engineer Regiments after taking the office of Chief Field Engineer few months back. The visit to Engineer Brigade and 8 Field Engineer Regiment was scheduled on 16 September 2019 and he visited 9 and 10 Field Engineer Regiments on 17 and 18 September subsequently. The Chief Field Engineer was ceremonially welcomed at each station followed by a briefing on current operational commitments by heads of the institutions.

The Chief Field Engineer visited Boo Oya camp premises where 5 Field Engineer Regiment was functioned under his command in early 2000. During his camp visit, he witnessed the living standard of men and civil servants while inspecting provided utilities to uplift men’s living standard. At each station, he addressed sapper troops and emphasized the necessity to work hard while maintaining outstanding discipline at every time. Further he witnessed Humanitarian Demining operations and its progress during the visit to HDM sites at Mullaitive and Muhamalai. During this visits he appreciated the commitment of sappers to make Sri Lankan soil free from the threat of land mines.

The urgent plant works at Regional Ordnance Dump Complex at Gajasinghapura was observed by the CFE and paid courtesy meetings with Commanders of Security Forces Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mullaitive during the field visits at respective Security Forces Area of Responsible. Also he marked his visit to Engineer Brigade, 9 and 10 Field Engineer Regiments by planting a sapling at each camp premise. Commander Engineer Brigade, Brigadier AN Amarasekara USP ndu, Colonel (Project) of Engineer Brigade, Commanding Officers of 8, 9, 10 Field Engineer Regiments were attended with official formalities of the visit.
