CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL MINE ACTION DAY

National Mine Action Day schedule for 4 April 2024 was celebrated ceremonially at Kilinochchi Central Collage playground, on 6 April 2024 with the presence of Hon. Minister Prasanna Ranathunga (The Minister for Urban Development and Housing) on Saturday 6 April 2024.

All demining agencies currently engaged in demining operations in Sri Lanka namely SLA HDU, The HALO Trust, MAG, DASH and SHARP participated for this event and the function was organized by the National Mine Action Centre which is a part of the Ministry for Urban Development and Housing.

A series of events have been organized on this ceremony by the NMAC and the most significant event was the Inter-Agency Cricket tournament. The SLA HDU team won the championship trophy of this tournament defeating all other agencies on the celebration of National Mine Action Day program.
