The Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division marked its 4th anniversary on 18 November, with a series of events that honoured its legacy of service, Strength, unity and tradition. Among the various commemoration, the alms giving and donation programme conducted at the "Thusitha" Elders Home stood out as the profound symbol of deep spiritual, allows step outside and focus on the needs of others.During the event members of the division provided essential donations and organized a meal for the residents at "Thusitha" Elders Home.
Moreover, within the division, a cricket tournament was held at the Mattegoda Camp, fostering camaraderie and team spirit among the troops. Religious observances were also integral to the celebrations, with the visits to the Bellanwila Viharaya and Nawagamuwa temple to seek blessings for the upcoming year.
The period also saw a significant milestone with the promotion of the General Officer Commanding to the rank of Major General. As per the military tradition on 29 th November 2024, Major General S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding Engineer Division was accorded a formal Guard Turnout followed by a colourful Guard of Honour. The Commander Engineer Division addressed the troops and emphasized the importance of continue good works and maintain the close coordination and relationship with parallel organizations regarding operation and administrative matters.
Following the troop address, the division hosted an all ranks lunch for a shared meal, embodying the Division’s spirit of unity, fellowship with individuals from various level of service and strengthening the bonds that hold the Division together.
These anniversary events reflected the Engineer Division's dedication its values and the enduring spirit of unity and mutual respect among its members.
