As a gesture of goodwill and charity, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) organized a book donation programme on 10 December 2020 for 334 children of deceased war hearos, differently abled and serving soldiers who have 3 or more children in their families, with the view to facilitate their studies.
The main sponsorship for the event was granted by the Nithyakalyani Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The donation included 334 numbers of gift packs consisting stationaries and a DSI gift vouchers.
The other sponsorships made by the following donors who were coordinated by Mrs Surangi Amarapala and Lieutenant Colonel Thissa Herath.

The event was held under the patronage of Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, the President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch while the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General Jgath Gunawardena made his presence to the event.
The gift packs were symbolically handed over to Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, the President of SVB - SLE by Mr Jayaraj, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nithyakalyani Jewellers and his fellow staff members.
Awarding of gifts were carried out by the President, the past president of Seva Vanitha Branch, and guest of honour Mr. AP Jeyaraj, the CEO of the Nithyakalyani Jewelers. Following the awarding of the gifts, a token of appreciation has been offered to the Nithyakalyani Jewelers on the humble support rendered in succeeding the event.
The programme was conducted adhering to health safety guidelines and social distancing practices.
