ASSUMING DUTIES AS THE 36TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 4 (VOLUNTEER) ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major SJMECD Samarakoon RSP USP psc SLE assumed duties as the 36th Commanding Officer of 4 (Volunteer) Engineer Regiment on 15 March 2023 at the headquarters of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment in Borupana, Ratmalana.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by Maj HAM Prabath SLE the Second in command of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment and saluted in the Guard turnout. Aimed brief religious observances, new Commanding Officer marked the inauguration of his office by placing his signature for an official document.

As a Military formality, he was invited to add memories by planting a ‘Jack‘ sapling and followed by a troop address to all ranks. Second in command, All Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion.
