ASSUMING DUTIES AS 24TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 5 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major WMPT Jayawardane SLE assumed duties as the 24th Commanding Officer of 5 Field Engineer Regiment, Mattegoda on 03 March 2023.

During his illustrious military career, he rendered his service by holding various command and staff appointments in both operational and non operational areas of the country.

A formal ceremony with a Guard Turnout, saluted new Commanding Officer on his arrival and he took over the duties by signing an official document amid religious observances.

Subsequently, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling in the Unit premises and later on he joined with the all ranks Tea party.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Unit extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer for his future endeavors.
