ASSUMING DUTIES AS THE 18TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 7 FIELD ENGINEERS REGIMENT

Maj WMAB Warnasooriya USP psc SLE assumed duties as 18 Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment on 09 May 2024 at Headquarters of 7 Field Engineer Regiment Batuoya, Minneriya with a formal military ceremony.

The incoming Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by Maj MAP Abeywickrama psc SLE, the Second In Command and saluted with the Guard Turnout. The newly appointed Commanding Officer symbolically placed his signature for an official document amidst religious blessings to signify the acceptance of the duties. As a military tradition, he was invited to add memories by planting a Mango sapling and followed by troop address, all officers and other rank attended the occasion.
