Major NLC Chandrajith RSP SLE assumed duties as the 17th Commanding Officer of the 8 Field Engineer Regiment on 03rd March 2023 at headquarters of 8 Field Engineer Regiment in Boo Oya, Vavuniya

The newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by Major AU Hidellaarachchi RSP SLE the Second in Command of 8 Field Engineer Regiment and saluted in the Guard turnout. Amid brief religious observances, new Commanding Officer marked the inauguration of his office by placing his signature for an official document

As a Military formality, he was invited to add memories by planting a ‘Mango’ sapling and followed by a troop address to all ranks. Second in Command, All Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion.
