8 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT BECAME THE INTER UNIT WRESTLING CHAMPIONS
The finals of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Inter Unit Wrestling Championship tournament, played on 22 March 2016 at the Headquarter Engineer Brigade, Boo Oya- VAVUNIYA, pushed 8 Field Engineer Regiment players to an unambiguous victory in both championship and novices categories.
Brigadier SJMAR Seneviratne RWP USP psc, Commander, Engineer Brigade, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lieutenant Colonel IK Liyanage psc SLE, Commanding Officer, 8 Field Engineer Regiment received the Chief Guest on arrival at the occasion.
The Chief Guest, Brigadier SJMAR Seneviratne RWP USP psc, Commander, Engineer Brigade enthusiastically, witnessed the finals and after extending his warm congratulations to the winners presented the Championship Trophy to 8 Field Engineer Regiment players amidst a thundering applause.
A gathering including Senior Sapper Officers, Sapper Officers and Other Ranks of spectators watched the finals.
