A Volleyball Championship, coinciding with Security Forces Headquarters (East) 21st Anniversary, got underway on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Security Forces Headquarter (East) playground, Valikanda. This prestigious event brought together elite competitors from SFHQ (East), Logistic Command (East) and affiliated Battalions of SFHQ (East), showcasing their Sports skills and determination in the field of games.
Finals of the tournament held between 7 Field Engineer Regiment team and 3(V) Military Intelligence Corps team, marking 7 Field Engineer Regiment team as Champions after series of matches. A notable highlight of the event was the exceptional performance by Sergeant Siriwardena BN as the best setter and Sergeant Rupassara RDRK as the best spiker of 7 Field Engineer Regiment highlighting a significant achievement for them and the Unit.
The Commander of the Security Forces (East) Major General Shevanth Kulathunga RWP RSP VSV USP psc , graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and congratulated the winning team on their outstanding accomplishment and extended his best wishes, acknowledging the hard work, dedication, and commitment.
Further, this achievement will undoubtedly inspire fellow soldiers of the unit and set a high standard for future competitors within the 7 field Engineer Regiment.
