66TH ANNIVERSARY OF SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

In line with the ethos of "Motherland Honour and Service," the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, established at Konduwattuwana on 05 May 1958, has played a pivotal role in nurturing Officers and Other Ranks within the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, equipping them with essential field engineering and plant engineering expertise to effectively carry out engineering duties since its inception.

Celebrating a significant milestone, the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering marked its 66th anniversary on 05 May 2024. To commemorate this occasion, the staff organized a serene “Bodhi Puja Pinkama” in the evening at the “Budhu Medura” within the school premises, seeking blessings for the institution's continued prosperity.

On 06 May 2024, as part of the customary observance, a guard turnout was accorded to the Commandant of SLSME, Col MKV Manoharan USP. Following this ceremonial display, the Commandant addressed the esteemed staff at the main lecture hall. Expressing gratitude, he extended appreciation to past Commandants and all Officers and Other Ranks who have diligently contributed to the school's growth and standing. Emphasizing the significance of unwavering commitment and dedication, the Commandant underscored the importance of continuing the legacy established by the predecessors of SLSME.

Following the Commandant's remarks, an All-Ranks Lunch was hosted at the SLSME Corporals' Club in honour of the institution's 66th Anniversary. Concluding the celebratory events, a vibrant musical evening took place at the SLSME cricket ground, uniting All Ranks of the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering in jubilant festivity.
