Quarantine centres have been established in the country by the Sri Lanka Army as a preventive measure to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 3,500 people have been under quarantine in 45 quarantine centres island-wide.
6 Field Engineer Regiment presently doing a vital role in central province of the country by conducting 12 quarantine centres under close supervision of SFHQ (Central). These 12 quarantine centres are locating at Pallekale, Gannoruwa, Rantembe, Pilimathalawa, Passara and Diyatalawa. Disinfectant spraying, disposal of waste and assist medical staff are the main contribution in these quarantine centres. So far 177 of locals and foreigners successfully completed their quarantine period and moreover 454 people are still being quarantined in these centres. Well-trained 01×60 Sapper troops shouldering this national duty as the first responders of the nation. People those who leaving from these quarantine centres were highly appreciated the commitment and the service that we have rendered for them.
