5 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT CONDUCTS POSON DANSALA AND LANTERN DISPLAY AT HOME OF SAPPERS

In celebration of the sacred Poson Full Moon Poya Day, the 5 Field Engineer Regiment organized a dansala and a lantern display at the main entrance of the Home of Sappers at Mattegoda on 10 June 2025. The event was held under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of the 5 Field Engineer Regiment, and was made possible through the dedicated efforts of all Officers and other Ranks of the Regiment.

The evening's proceedings commenced with a dansala where cooked jack fruit were distributed to the public. Later, 16 Workshop Regiment SLE conducted the bodhi poojawa at the camp premises. Following that, a Poson lantern display featuring creative and vibrant lanterns lit up the atmosphere. Notably, the event also included a collaborative Poson lantern created by the 14 CBRNE Response Regiment SLE, further enhancing the festive spirit.

Officers and all Ranks from the 5 Field Engineer Regiment SLE, 14 CBRNE Response Regiment SLE and 16 Workshop Regiment SLE conducted these events under the guidance of the Engineer Division. The event fostered unity, spiritual reflection and community engagement, making it a truly memorable for all who attended.
